1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
4) Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?
5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
1. My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was going to the ed tech room and reading the joke to the man with the scarf. I also enjoyed going to the library because it was warm there.
ReplyDelete2. My least favorite part was finding the answer to the second to last question (KING). This is because it made no sense to me at first glance and it made me think deep.
3. I would make people go to places that are far away from each other. Then people would have to walk more and enjoy the hike up and down the stairs.
4. A concept that i am confused of is scientific notation. I know how to do basic problems of scientific notation but I am not confident to be able to solve advanced scientific notation problems.
5. I will reread the textbook and try my best to solve all the problems that look challenging and might come out on the test. I will also look at my past tests and quizes to see my mistakes and to see what kind of problems will come out on the final exam.
1) My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was the part were we had to ask Mr. Bray if he had entered it in the Ugly Sweater Contest. The people in the office started laughing and is was funny.
ReplyDelete2) My least favorite part was the math problem in the library. That problem took us a long time to figure out.
3)I would have more places that you had to go in the scavenger hunt so that going around to place is more complicated. Also, everyone should get a prize!
4)Some concepts that I’m going to work on is changing decimals to fractions and fractions to decimal.
5) I will go over tests and quizzes to see what it is that I don’t understand and practice those things. I will also make sure I know what all the vocabulary means.

4. There is some concepts that I might confused about. Which was the scientific notation.
5. I have student support in C block, so I could study there. The way I could prepare is pick some problems from Text Book, review them and correct it if there is some mistakes.
1) My favorite part about doing the scavenger hunt was finding out the code. The code, which was the last problem was very difficult because you had to use your creative side of your brain to find what it meant which was very enjoyable and interesting.
ReplyDelete2) My least favorite part about the scavenger hunt was solving the riddles. I like to solve codes, but not the riddles because I do not do well in my English class and the main key to solve the riddles is to know the meanings of it. It was very frustrating and greatly confused me.
3) To improve the scavenger hunt, I think you should put problems around the school and not only just the middle school. The problems were located around the middle school, so it was not very challenging for us to find the mathematical problems. All we had to do was go around the middle school and solve some clues in the riddles. To get the scavenger more difficult and fun, I think it will be better to put the questions all over the school (like in the high school building or the G building).
4) I don’t really find any gaps in my mathematical knowledge because I was able to master it during the school year. I studied for tests and quizzes and I tried to do my math homework first because I wanted my brain to know the concepts and not forget it. Also, I tried solving my work in different ways and if I did not know how to solve it, I will guess the mathematical way and look up on the internet to see if I was right in order to expand my knowledge.
5) The two ways that I am going to study for the finals is reviewing all the vocabularies and math formulas and solving difficult word problems to make my brain ready for the confusing and hateful word problems in the exam.

My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was going around school to find clues! although I didn’t like answering math equations for it, I enjoyed the part where we got to go around and find stuff! (I don’t know why I like finding stuff using clues)
What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)

Maybe giving different clues to different groups will be good because people find groups that are solving equations and go to them instead of trying to find the location.

I think I can know I have mastered all concepts because I can solve it.

Solve Equations
Review stuff I got wrong on
1) I liked the last part when we had to put the letters together to find the word king. I think I liked it because personally, it was the easiest problem of the scavenger hunt and we didn’t have to move around much since it was inside our classroom.
ReplyDelete2) My least favorite part was the library part when we actually had to find the paper with the problem on it. It was the part where me and Annette got stuck. But the scavenger hunt was very fun and I think it was a good experience to have.
3) I don’t really want to change anything but I would separate the problems a little more.
4) I don’t have major problems with anything but I would like to review fractions again.

ReplyDelete- My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was the last question #6 because it was a question that required logical thinking. Even though it was frustrating, it was challenging for me and it felt proud when I solved the code.
2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
- My least favorite part was the question #2 because Yeon-Tae and I wasted a lot of time solving that one question because we were forgetting about the order of operations and it was very frustrating when I thought nothing was wrong.
3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
- I think taking out the questions in the beginning will make the Scavenger Hunt better because solving those questions were not fun and I think it is a waste of time when you can just solve more questions to make the Scavenger Hunt intense.
4) Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?
- I think I should care more about the order of operations because as I mentioned before, we were stuck on #2 because we were forgetting the order of operations. In order not to forget this concept I think I should solve more problems that require order of operations to master the concept.
5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
- One way I can prepare for my mathematics final is to go over all the tests, quizzes, and assignments to just go over what I did for the semester and to understand the units better.
- Also, I can solve a few questions on the review page each chapter and get used to solving those questions and prepare to ace the finals.
